Welcome
My name is Vesta Douglass, professionally I call myself Vesta Irene. I’m married to writer Ken Douglas and Devon is my grandson. I’m a photographer and needless to say, Devon is my favorite subject. Just look at his photo below and you can see why.
It goes without saying that if I want to make a living doing what I love, taking pictures, that I can’t shoot only Devon and I can’t fill my website and my business website up with only Devon shots. To be sure, there are some on my site, but what about all those other pictures I’ve taken of him over the years, those shots I’m so proud of, those shots I love so much? I wanted to put some of them online too, so I decided to create a website dedicated to Devon.
I know, I know, this is a vanity website. But if you’re reading this, you probably know Devon and don’t mind or you came here by clicking on the Devon Douglass link on the right to check out some more of my photos, to see if I’m any good at this picture taking business. I hope, if it’s the latter, that you decide that I am.
Ken and I got into photography right after we got married in 1965. That may seem like a long time ago to you, but to me it seems like yesterday. Time really does fly when you’re having fun and we have so much of it that life is zipping by, going faster than that roller coaster Buddy Holly sang about, so fast that if we didn’t have cameras in hand, recording our precious moments, they’d be gone in the blink of an eye.
So, if you came here to check out some more of my work, know this, if you use me and Ken we’ll record your memories with the same care and love that we’ve recored ours. And if you have a child or grandchild, I’d dearly love to take his or her photos for you, because there is nothing more precious on this earth than a child’s smile, when I get a shot of one of those it just makes me happy all over.
